Why BEML and Associated Stocks Will Surge Along with Railway Seeing an Increase by 10% in Allocation for Upcoming Budget 2025

An allocation increase that ranges from 5 to 10% towards. Indian Railways is anticipated in the Union Budget 2025 according to. Elara Capital analyst Harshit Kapadia In the last financial year. The railway budget was 2.65 Lakh Crore which was a 4% increase on the last budget to modernise. The railways infrastructure according to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

BEML and Other Companies Might Demonstrate Positive Growth with Increased Allocation

This increased allocation is favorable for a number of rail and metro project companies. RITES and BEML are set to do really well among government owned companies. While Siemens and Titagarh Rail Systems will do great in the private sector.

Shares for railways linked companies saw a boost on speculation for funding increase on January 16.

BEMLs Portfolio is Expanding

According to Kapadia, BEMLs portfolio for rail and metro projects is really promising. The company has landed two metro orders and is actively pursuing more contracts for rolling stock within the railway industry. They have also started working on a prototype for a few other projects including the Vande Bharat Sleeper and have successfully received an order for a prototype bullet train for the Mumbai Ahmedabad high-speed train corridor.

Safety and Modernization Go Hand in Hand

Mr. Mahesh Kumar Gupta, Former Railway Board member noted that safety and security are of utmost importance. For the past year, 40% of capital expenditures for the railways went towards safety measures, track replacement, and upgrades to rolling stock. Gupta pointed out that over the next 5-10 years 40-50% of the railway allocation will need to be directed towards safety initiatives.

Railway Initiatives Aiming for Station Modernization

The railway is also involved in modernization of several projects such as renovation works on railways stations with the New Delhi Railway Station renovation works being the most ambitious. It is expected that these upgrades will take three to four years. In addition, there are ongoing plans to enhance locomotives, passenger cars, freight cars, and even wagons. The installation of the rail network safety initiative ‘Kavach system’ is also on track across the entire railway network.
